Advancing Experiential Learning
XR is poised to revolutionize education because of its ability to increase student engagement, interest in learning, and success (Di Natale et al., 2020). Universities are being called on to address the XR skills gap—while XR has been used in industry and gaming for decades, there aren't enough people skilled in XR to meet workplace demand.
The XR Collaborative is a community of instructors, students, researchers, and staff—from the curious to the expert—working together to increase experiential learning opportunities for students and generate strategic direction for XR at the University of Arizona.
We use the term XR to include virtual reality, extended reality, augmented reality, and 360-video.
